• 137.8 PATCH NOTES •
16 April 2008
We feel like we're almost done with the majority of stability issues that some players have been dealing with. We've eliminated several more key issues and hope that this update will resolve the after battle/survey crash for most if not all of you. Please let us know if it does not. Additionally we've included a few fun things like the ability to toggle chat on and off for those times when you just want to focus on the game. If we can claim victory over the after battle crash then we'll finally be able to get back to working on polishing up features we're not happy with and of course adding in things like tournaments which are waiting in the wings! I think I can safely say that everyone here is pretty excited - thanks again for your support! FIXES AND CHANGES OF NOTE Fixed an issue where players could open slots for battles that would not work causing them to crash - patience friends! Fixed an issue with the unit limit cap. Fixed an issue where the territory would sometimes switch to the wrong map when moving a territory between safe lands and wilderness (or vice versa). Fixed an issue which could cause a crash after battle. Implemented a fix which should help resolve the disappearing building issues. Fixed an issue with peasants where they could be spawned in after a player was defeated in PVP. Resolved an issue where all players would received the audio and text notice that another player had reached the 3 unit max. Typing /friend will no longer crash the client if used improperly. Players will no longer crash after pasting more that 255 characters into the chat box - it will automatically truncate the message to 255 characters. Garrisoning PVP peasants and boss units no longer returns CP erroneously to the player. Units heading to a building to garrison should no longer turn and retaliate when attacked. Potential fix for the modify unit dialog on spell ranks. Random inability to raid should be less random (ie not exist anymore). Fixed potential issues with resources being displayed properly at times. Spells can no longer be issued movement commands causing movement flags to show up (nothing else would happen - CHARGE!) Clicking HELP in Nation Management and the ? banner will now load the SAGA Manual. To toggle help chat, there is a button on the help chat box. You can now hide the entire chatbox by clicking the collapse button on the chatbox. The mouse cursor will now properly update while moving into the bottom GUI in battles. Help popups can now have voice overs attached to them. Units that can equip polearms no longer say they can equip halberds. Resolved a possible crash when opening the guild screen. Doodads are now properly removed when switching territories. QUEST NOTES The majority of the past week has been spent testing and tracking down the last remaining survey crash by everyone at Saga (including level designers), so quests have been a little slow in coming. However, a couple new quests and a number of important fixes have happened. New Heroic - "Reign of Nightmares" - lvl 30, both factions New Quest - "Warlords of the East" - lvl 26, both factions Moved the Portal in "Temple Defilers". Fixed "Spilling his Guts". Tweaked "Shadows Clutches" - chest drops now correct. Fixed Invisible Swordsman in "Rescue the Princess" so that he can actually fight the Evil Dragon. Tweaked "Elven Proving Grounds 1" so that enemy level doesn't decrease after you have beaten it. Tweaked "Path of Heroes 1" so that Bacchut can attack flyers. Tweaked "Wizard Fortress" so the quest fails if you destroy rather than capturing the stronghold, as per instructions. Tweaked the non-ranged bosses in "Angor's Arms" so that their minions will spawn when they are attacked by flyers. Fixed "Stone Shipment" so chest spawns actually pick up and don't break quest. Fixed chest drops in "Alumei Bridge" and also fixed victory conditions so they actually happen. Fixed the Brotherhood "Kill the Beast" line so that Thrullgood and Krank are correcctly named. BALANCE CHANGES
We're waiting on a few changes to how melee and ranged units deal with one another to take the next step in balance adjustments. If all goes well we may see those changes for next weeks patch.
